Making a photo better

Now, what we consider to be a good Filter will often change from photo to photo. But, all the same, there are filters that are more manageable and more amenable to more images than others. There are also filters that are objectively ugly, and are hard to imagine being the right choice in almost any situation. Still, they exist, so there’s a good chance that they have some kind of usefulness. What could be more useful than a good filter, though, in today’s day and age. Whether it’s to hide a blemish on your face, or hide the mediocrity or boring nature of a photo you’ve taken, or just to bring out some vibrancy from something that’s looking a little dull in its captured form, there’s nothing like a good filter, and some levels balancing to make that photo pop. Some people ask me if I think that filtering is unethical. I think absolutely not. I think that photoshop has always been used, airbrushing, other editing techniques, but they’ve always been quite expensive and esoteric. No, any person is a smartphone can download Instagram or just use their regular photo app, and they were often be some level of customisation with the images that you have captured. This absolutely did not used to be the case, other than maybe zooming, of which was not the most effective form in its early days.
